Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu recently sent out words of advice to women out there via social media.

In the post which she shared via her official Twitter handle, the mother of two stated that divorce was nothing to be ashamed of as there were divorced men all over the place as well.

Aisha also said women should not allow anyone shame them into staying in abusive relationships.

She wrote:

"For every divorced woman, there is a divorced man. My dear sister, do not allow anyone shame you into staying in an abusive relationship."

The activist also followed up the tweet by stating that abuse must not be tolerated in any form of relationship and steps should be taken for protection.

The post generated mixed reactions and people took to the comment section to express their opinions.
