British-born and popular Hollywood actor, Idris Elba, has reportedly revealed a significant part of his career in the entertainment industry.
According to Lee Bailey’s EurWeb, the actor said he had to fake an American accent, while hiding his British intonation to star in a movie at the early stage of his career.
Elba, who played the interesting character, Stringer Bell, on The Wire, said that the series creator, David Simon, never wanted to hire a non-American actor for a show cast in Baltimore.

“Alexa Fogel was a casting director that was really into seeing new talent. She said: ‘I love you, I gotta bring you into this audition, but you have to promise that you can’t tell him you’re from East London,'” Elba narrated.
He, however, added how he had to stop the pretense on the fourth audition for the series, saying his parents always advised him to say the truth. He said his parents' advice was why he came clean on where he really came from.
Elba also added that the series director was going to fire Alexa but that he convinced him not to do so.

Elba tied the knot with his fiancé, Sabrina Dhowre (aged 29), in a ceremony that held at the Ksar Char-Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, on Friday, April 26.
