Talented Nigeria-eligible midfielder Mishel Nduka has announced his departure from English club Charlton Athletic as he is set to join Arsenal.

The Gunners are making efforts to bolster their young team with another quality signing in a bid to compete for silverware this season.

Nduka has been praised for his vision, ball control and pace, and his arrival at the London club is a testament to the club's dedication to continued investment in youth football.

It was reported that the Gunners made an incredible transfer swoop on the promising youngster, edging rival clubs Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers to his signature.

The teenager becomes eligible to feature for the club at the U16 and U18 teams, as he continues to work on a scholarship deal upon turning 16, per Six Sports.

He hopes to earn a professional contract in the coming years, just like other Nigerian descendants who graduated from several academies.

Some Nigerian-eligible players who eventually progressed into Arsenal's first team include Chuka Akpom, Bukayo Saka, Alex Iwobi and Ethan Nwaneri.

As he officially departs Charlton, Nduka wrote on Instagram:

"After 8 years at Charlton Athletic FC, my time with the club has come to an end. A huge thank you to my family and the staff at Charlton who have guided me along my journey.
"Charlton will always have a special place in my heart. On to the next chapter."
