Benitez's Tactics Have Got Me Firing Again- Torres

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres believes interim manager Rafael Benitez's more direct style of play is bringing the best out of him once again.

The Spaniard has struggled for form during his time at Stamford Bridge but has scored four times in the last two games, against FC Nordsjaelland and Sunderland.

As the Blues prepare to face Monterrey on Thursday in the Club World Cup, Torres believes Chelsea have recovered from their November slump, which saw them go six matches without a win, culminating in the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo.

He told reporters: "You can see very clearly we don't pass the ball as much in the final third, play more direct and exploit the pace with Victor Moses or me or Eden Hazard and use the quality of Juan Mata or Oscar in middle.

"We're attacking more, creating more chances and working as a team. It takes time when new manager comes but the results give us more confidence which is what we need now."

When quizzed on the subject, Torres was insistent, however: "I wasn't low but when the team is not playing well every player is not happy.

"We had bad run of results in November and knew we needed to improve. With the results it's going to be easier."
