Lawyer Speaks, Mentions What Could Happen to Blord if VeryDarkMan Wins Court Case: "They're Serious"

A Nigerian lawyer has pointed out two legal implications of what Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, allegedly did to Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, if he is found guilty by the court.

The lawyer made the statement shortly after a petition was filed by VeryDarkMan against Blord. While Blord has yet to be declared guilty or innocent by the court, the lawyer listed some alleged actions that could lead to two possible legal outcomes.

Lawyer reacts to drama between Blord, VeryDarkMan

Barr. Wendy Cynthia Okosa took to her page to explain that, at the moment, Blord has been remanded in a correctional facility and that serious allegations have been made against him.

She wrote:

"Assuming the videos released by VeryDarkMan (VDM) are not an April Fool’s prank, and that Linus Williams (BLORD) has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre for 26 days, the situation raises serious legal concerns."
"Legal Analysis of the Allegations."
"From a legal standpoint, VDM’s claims remain allegations, which means B-Lord is presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, if established, they point to multiple potential violations."

She further spoke about the alleged acts carried out by Blord against VeryDarkMan.

"A major issue is copyright infringement, which can attract both civil and criminal liability under the Copyright Act 2023."
"Using another person’s image, name, or likeness for commercial purposes without consent may amount to:"
"Copyright infringement."
"Passing off."
"Misrepresentation."
"Fraud (where there is intent to deceive)."

"The courts have affirmed that victims can seek remedies such as damages and injunctions, as seen in STRONG TECHNOLOGIES LTD v. AYIKA & ORS."

She added that if the claims are proven to be true, certain steps can be taken by the court.

"Such conduct may amount to criminal offences, including fraud, impersonation, and obtaining by false pretence. Using a public figure’s identity to gain public trust for a product or service may also indicate fraudulent intent."

Barr. Wendy Cynthia Okosa wrote on Facebook what the court might do to Blord if found guilty.

She said:

"Given the level of influence involved, the damages could be substantial."
"Conclusion."
"If the allegations are proven, BLORD may face fines and possible imprisonment. While these are not capital offences, they are still serious under Nigerian law. However, it is important to remember: allegation is not guilt; only the court can determine that."

In a similar story, Legit.ng reported that a Nigerian lawyer talked about the drama between Martins Vincent Otse and Linus Williams Ifejirika. The lawyer said VeryDarkMan had a good reason to take action. He listed some things Blord allegedly did that made VeryDarkMan angry.

Blord: Man sends message to VeryDarkMan

Meanwhile, Legit.ng recently reported that a Nigerian man shared his opinion amid the ongoing drama between VeryDarkMan and Blord.

In a viral post, the man, identified as Ugo Boss, advised VeryDarkMan on what he believed would have been a better approach instead of taking legal action. He noted that although he has always been a supporter of the social media critic, he was disappointed with the move that led to Blord’s arrest.
