"There is this unexplainable connection between Ibadan people and Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. In 1992, they voted for him as Senator and in 2003 they voted for him as their governor. Today, he will be formally crowned their king in the presence of his long time friend and ally, President Bola Tinubu. There has been huge support and great excitement about his Obaship even long before fate finally thrust the throne to him. Ibadan has been in celebratory mood like never seen before. May his reign bring peace, progress and great development to Ibadanland and may his people prosper."
