YouTube launches new TV-focused tools for creators
YouTube beefed up tools for creators on Wednesday as it competes with streaming rivals such as Netflix on the biggest screen in most homes: the television. "It's the fastest-growing screen," YouTube chief Neal Mohan said of televisions at a presentation to content creators in New York.
X update allows app to bypass Brazil ban: internet providers
Elon Musk's X social network carried out an automatic update overnight on phone applications that allowed it to bypass a ban in Brazil, an association of internet providers said Wednesday. The Brazilian Association of Internet and Telecommunications Providers (ABRINT) explained that the return of X was due to an update of the app to Cloudflare software that uses constantly changing IP addresses.
India coal expansion risks massive methane growth: report
India's plans to expand coal mining could double emissions of the potent greenhouse gas methane from its domestic coal sector by 2029, threatening its climate goals, a report warned Thursday. The planned expansions could more than double coal mine-related methane emissions by 2029 from a decade earlier, the report by independent energy think tank Ember said.
Boeing to start large temporary furloughs amid Seattle strike
Boeing said Wednesday it would start temporary furloughs of professional and white-collar staff as it seeks to conserve cash amid a labor strike that has shuttered Seattle manufacturing plants. Boeing plans for "selected employees to take one week of furlough every four weeks on a rolling basis for the duration of the strike," said a message to employees from CEO Kelly Ortberg.

Taiwan and Hungary on Wednesday denied making pagers that exploded while being used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon, killing 12 people. The explosions in Lebanon killed 12 people, including two children, and wounded up to 2,800 others.

Train drivers in Britain have overwhelmingly accepted a government pay deal, their union said on Wednesday, ending a two-year dispute at 16 rail companies. Most train services in Britain are run by private companies that are awarded government contracts.
