President Muhammadu Buhari has warned bandits who recently killed residents in Zamfara not to believe that the federal government cannot get hold of them.
Warning the criminals not to push their luck, the president affirmed that his administration will not tolerate the mindless destruction of lives, Daily Trust reports.
“Such wanton disregard for life will be brought to an end sooner than later. This insane and persistent violence against innocent people must stop.
“The violence against poor villagers who are struggling with poverty and other severe economic challenges is not going to be tolerated by this administration."
He promised Zamfara residents that the military will do all it can to forestall further attacks and destruction of properties.
Buhari, as a way forward, called on security agencies and the armed forces to close the gaps that criminals take advantage of, Guardian also reported.
He told the nation's security chiefs not to give bandits any opportunity to wreak more havoc in the country.
“Let’s not give these criminals any opportunity to succeed by taking the war to their own camps and stop them in their tracks before they even have the time to respond under our massive firepower.”
Earlier, Zamfara was thrown into deep mourning by some suspected armed bandits who launched multiple attacks in six communities on Wednesday, April 21, killing at least 45 people.
