- Former lawmaker Akinwale Akinwole has reacted to a statement credited to Rauf Aregbesola
- Akinwole appealed to the minister of interior to welcome Senator Iyiola Omisore to the ruling party
- The former minority leader noted that Aregbesola needs to face the reality that Omisore is a member of the APC
Akinwale Akinwole, a former Osun state House of Assembly minority leader, made the appeal in a statement in Osogbo on Monday, February 22.
While calling on the minister to face the reality that Omisore has come to stay, the APC chieftain added that Aregbesola should stop being jealous of the former deputy governor.
Legit.ng recalls that Aregbesola declared that killers and miscreants have been allowed to join the ruling APC during the ongoing party's registration and revalidation exercise.
The former governor of Osun state disclosed this via his official Facebook page on Saturday, February 20, after he revalidated his APC membership at his Ifofin, Ward 8, Ilesa east local government area of the state.
He said the registration afforded members the opportunity to deepen internal democracy in the party, adding that they now have a say in whoever becomes the flagbearer either at the party level or for government elective positions.
Iyiola Omisore finally defects to APC
Meanwhile, Omisore, the former deputy governor of Osun state finally defected to the ruling APC.
Omisore, on Monday, February 15, visited his polling unit in Ward 6, Moore, Ile-Ife, in a convoy of Osun state deputy governor, Benedict Alabi, to pick the APC membership card.
He contested the 2018 governorship poll on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
