Nigeria's minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN on Tuesday, February 9, expressed joy at the massive turnout of people for the membership registration of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi state.

In a report by The Sun, Malami noted that the huge turnout was another vote of confidence for President Muhammadu Buhari, the state governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and APC.

The Attorney-General of Federation (AGF) made this known while speaking with newsmen after revalidating his membership at his Shiya Fada polling unit in Birnin Kebbi.

While hailing the people for coming out en mass, the minister stressed that their patience and orderly manner shows they still have confidence in the leadership of Buhari and Bagudu.

Legit.ng recalls that President Buhari on Saturday, January 30, revalidated his APC membership status at his Sarkin Yara polling unit in Daura, Katsina state.

The president was accompanied by some APC governors, the president of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, and the party's national leaders.

Akande condemns repeated membership registration

However, Chief Adebisi Akande, the pioneer national chairman of the APC described the registration exercise of the party as unnecessary and aberration.

Akande, who said this on Wednesday, February 3, at his registration centre in Ila Oragun, Osun state, stressed that the present APC membership registration is an indefensible aberration leading to certain ugly perceptions.

He said the major perception is that APC leadership might be wasteful and unappreciative of the proper use of money in a kind of scanty economy in which Nigeria now finds itself.
