Victor Osimhen has bagged one of his biggest contracts as a professional footballer after sealing a mega deal to join Galatasaray from Italian champions Napoli.

Despite the huge transfer fee paid, Osimhen’s mouthwatering salary is the catch of the deal as the Super Eagles forward will receive a net guaranteed salary of €15 million, per ESPN.

The Nigerian forward will also get a net loyalty bonus of €1 million per season and €5 million as image rights payments from the Turkish club, where he played on loan last season.

With that said, Legit.ng has decided to look at the four highest-paid African footballers in the world.

1. Riyad Mahrez

Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez tops the pay charts, pocketing around £827,448 per week at Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, One Football reports.

That level of earnings places him well above Osimhen and cements his status as the highest-paid African footballer in 2025.

2. Sadio Mane

Senegalese star and former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane, now at Al-Nassr, earns approximately £634,060 per week.

He's a huge star with a known face, something the Saudi Pro League was anxious to recruit this summer.

He was one of many footballers who came to Saudi Arabia after being offered large sums of money.

This staggering salary Mane earns at Al Nassr makes him the second-highest-paid African player, outranking Osimhen by a significant margin.

3. Kalidou Koulibaly

Kalidou Koulibaly, commanding the defence for Al-Hilal, brings in £550,047 per week, placing him third on the overall earnings list

He left Stamford Bridge after just one season with the Blues, joining Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

Despite playing as a centre-back, Koulibaly easily out-earns Osimhen thanks to the Saudi league’s financial strength.

4. Mohamed Salah

Liverpool’s talisman, Mohamed Salah, earns a hefty £350,000 per week

While his wage is lower than the Saudi-based trio's, it still outpaces Victor Osimhen’s current earnings.

With so many clubs interested in prying him away from Anfield, the Reds decided to offer Salah a bumper new deal on £350,000 a week.
