Aso Villa - President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the National Economic Council at the presidential villa on Thursday, June 15.
According to a video shared by the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Media Centre on Twitter on Thursday, the council is headed by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

What Tinubu expects from Shettima's council
The President charged the council to work with the administration in reviving the country's economic fortunes for Nigerians.

According to the President, the task of reviving the economy before his administration is daunting, noting that the Shettima-led team would have no excuse to fail because they all begged Nigerians for the job.
He said:
"The task of growing our economy is enormous but you and I asked for this job. We campaigned for it, we danced for it, and even begged for it, so we have no reason to complain."
Shettima's council to advise Tinubu on economic way forward
Recall that last week, the president called for the convening of the National Economic Council to fast-track the process of rolling out palliatives to mitigate the effects of the removal of the fuel subsidy.
One week after the announcement, the president inaugurated the team under the chairmanship of Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The NEC is expected to meet monthly and advise the president on the road to take in the country's economic affairs with a focus on the necessary measures for government planning and programmes.
