A wave of controversy has hit social media following the wedding of Aboy, the autistic adopted son of Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM).
Four days after the wedding, the pastor had now changed Aboy’s name and spoke about his age.

The marriage between Aboy and the woman went viral online and ignited heated discussion, with many observers expressing joy over the union while others questioned some aspects of the arrangement and shared differing opinions.
Monetary gifts and other mouth-watering gifts were awarded to the woman for agreeing to marry the autistic man.
OPM pastor changes Aboy's name after marriage
On his Facebook page, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere announced how his church marked World Autism Day, showing the autistic man and his wife in attendance.
Speaking about Aboy, the pastor announced that his name was now Elijah, while addressing speculations concerning his age.
The Facebook post read:
"TODAY 2 APRIL 2026, WORLD AUTISM DAY WAS CELEBRATED AROUND THE WORLD. Aboy and his wife attended. And HRM KING APOSTLE CHIBUZOR GIFT CHINYERE celebrated it with the children that attend OPM free school for autism and Down syndrome.
"Each child that attends OPM free school for autism and down syndrome received a gift of one iPad each. This iPad will assist there learning process. And my business partner in China sent cartons of audio book called PHONICS FOR ALL. This audio book will really help the children learning process. And he gave it to the President of divine distributor of OPM to deliver it to me.
"And Aboy Chibuzor was present with his beloved wife. And other autistic children also presented wedding gift to there former school mate.
"And I have also changed Aboy name from Aboy CHIBUZOR to Elijah CHIBUZOR. And another question. How old is Aboy now Elijah ? Only his biological parents knows his true age.
"But with what I saw below his belt that he was also bringing out in my compound, the size does not look like a child. Do you have idea that some young persons look older than there age and some old persons look younger than there age?
"When Elijah was dropped at my gate, no one told me his age, even his tribe or even his name. That’s why I named him Aboy and I just changed today to Elijah. EVERYTHING IS FULLY FUNDED THROUGH TITHE AND OFFERINGS FROM OPM CHURCH."
