A Nigerian woman, Mercy Omoselu, mourned an employee of United Capital Plc, Ndidi Osaemedike-Okeke, who died in the Afriland Towers fire.

She stated that Ndidi was her former roommate and shared details of their last meeting.

United Capital has disclosed that six of its staff died, including Olumide Oyefodunrin, Jesutoni Shodipo, Kehinde Adeoye, Ndidi Osaemedike-Okeke, Opeyemi Oloyede, and Rebecca Adenuga.

On her Facebook page, Mercy expressed her pain and sorrow on the demise of her friend who died in the fire incident that happened on Tuesday, September 16.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said the fire began in the building’s basement inverter room before smoke spread quickly through several floors.

Mercy mourned her friend in her post:

“This has shattered my day. My Roomie gone just like that. This was never the plan. We had great plans to fulfill Sis. I read about the fire incident, but l never knew My Ndidi was involved till this morning.
“Chai,if tears could revive you l would have given up all from my eye just to see you again. Never knew your visit to PH would be the last time we would see physically. I am so pained and sorrow filled, may God console your husband and your two lovely kids.
“Oh my heart is very heavy. Your parents and siblings can only be consoled by God. This hurts deeply. Rest well my Friend, Rest well my Sister. Your Memory lives on in my heart. You left on my 40th birthday,how can l ever forget you?
“I,Mercy Osagbemi loves and cherishes the moments we shared. Adieu my Love, Till we meet to part no more.”

United Capital employee's last words emerges

Meanwhile, Leigit.ng previously reported that the last words of an employee of United Capital Plc who died in the Afriland Towers fire have been made public.

Kehinde Adeoye's final words to her husband broke hearts, as many sympathised with her family and others who loved her.

United Capital and some other offices were affected when the tower caught fire last week, and some employees lost their lives.
