Popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, had announced online that she would be attempting to make history by cooking the largest pot of jollof rice ever.

The event was set for September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State.

On Monday, September 15, the Guinness World Records confirmed that she had set the record for the largest pot of jollof rice weighing 8,780 kg, and she reacted emotionally.

In a video by @chefdammy_ on Instagram, she congratulated Hilda Baci on her record and appreciated Gino for partnering with her.

Chef Dammy came to the spotlight after attempting to beat Hilda Baci's first record in 2023, and many remembered her during Hilda's latest record-breaking feat.

In her latest video, Chef Dammy said:

"I'm making this video because people have been asking me, 'do you want to cook again?' No, why would I do that? I will just like to say thank you to everyone that has been supporting me and to everybody that has been fighting on my behalf online."
