Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, announced the development during plenary on Tuesday, February 4, adding that the President had signed the bill establishing the Federal Polytechnic in the Rano area of Kano State and the Federal University of Health Sciences in Tsafe, Zamfara State.
Why Tinubu signed North Central bill into law
The Senate president noted that Tinubu signed the bill to bring development to the people at the grassroots. He then congratulated the people of the North Central and wished them more development and peace in the coming days.
Before now, there has been agitation for the president to sign the North-Central Commission bill into law. The signing of the bill into law is expected to strengthen the economy and infrastructure development of the geopolitical zone.
However, the Senate president did not reveal the date Tinubu signed the bill, but his announcement followed the day the president signed the bill establishing a federal university of environmental technology in Ogoni, Rivers State.
Since he resumed the office of power, Tinubu has established development commissions for the six regions of the country and scrapped the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in the name of fairness and justice.
