Pastor Fatoyinbo vs CAC's Ayo Babalola: Christian Youths Speak on COZA Leader's Comment
The Concerned Christian Youth Forum has commented on the controversies between Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the lead pastor of the Commonwealth Zion Assembly (COZA) and the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) and its founder, late Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola.
Fatoyinbo is being accused of making disparaging remarks about the late religious leader, but the group, in a statement sent to Legit.ng, explained that the claim-making rounds on social media about the COZA leader and his words.

Convener James Paul Adama, the leader of the group, explained that Fatoyinbo held all Christian faith leaders in high esteem and that he never intended to insult the late Apostle Babalola or his family.
The group maintained that Pastor Fatoyinbo has apologised to the family of the late apostle as well as the leadership of the CAC. They then reaffirmed that the Christian community in Nigeria remained one and warned against any attempt to sow seeds of discord among members.
Pastor Fatoyinbo earlier made a post on his verified Facebook account to respond after CAC accused him of peddling a misleading narrative about its revered founder, Apostle Babalola.
CAC credited the pastor as saying that late Ayodele Babalola was anointed but had no money.
CAC said in a Facebook post:
"In one of your trending messages on YouTube, you acknowledged that Apostle Babalola was highly anointed but "had no money", and then went on to ask sarcastically, “Where are his children?” — a question that was both insensitive and ill-informed."
Pastor Fatoyinbo has now responded to the statement, noting that the sermon he preached was not done in bad faith. Pastor Fatoyinbo's response came after the chastising statement by CAC started trending on social media.
The COZA pastor said he acknowledges the exploits of Apostle Babalola and noted that he never intended to disparage his person or enviable legacy. Pastor Fatoyinbo also said he grew up in CAC and cherishes the church. He said, far be it from him to disrespect the legacy of Apostle Babalola.
While addressing Fatoyinbo's sermon, CAC had alleged that the pastor was sarcastic while asking about the children of the late revivalist.
