Magu mentions Nigeria's greatest problem
According to Magu, the single greatest threat to the development in Nigeria is corruption. He then urged young Nigerians to choose integrity above impunity so that they can build a new nation.
At the event, themed “Manpower Development – The Bridge Between Potential and Productivity,” the former EFCC chairman told the youth delegates, civil society stakeholders and industry leaders that corruption is a major issue in Nigeria's governance. He said: “Corruption is not just a government issue — it is a cultural issue. And it is up to you to break the cycle.”
He further added that corruption was a major undermining factor in Nigeria's development efforts. He noted:
"We must confront the bitter truth: Corruption remains the single greatest threat to manpower development in Nigeria.
"When a nation invests billions in education but classrooms remain empty and under-equipped, corruption is at work. When our brightest minds leave the country, not because of a lack of talent but a lack of opportunity, corruption is to blame."
