Nollywood filmmaker and actor Kunle Afolayan has broken his silence on a viral rumour making the rounds on social media about an alleged conversation with Funke Akindele regarding her casting in his Netflix series Anikulapo.

The rumours which emerged online amid Funke and Toyin Abraham's new feud claimed that Afolayan reached out to the Behind The Scenes producer to play the role of Arolake, played by Bimbo Ademoye.

According to the rumour, Funke demanded N3.5 million per role, which Afolayan turned down, forcing him to find another actress to play the role.

"Kunle Afolayan said when he was looking for a vibrant female actress who can act as Queen Arolake in his super hit movie Anikulapo, he contacted Funke Akindele and she demanded 3.5m naira per role, Which he refused and looked for someone else, the moment she heard that they have started making the movie she stopped talking to him, even though they kept on meeting in different movies event, then he said he later contacted her just to congratulate her, on her latest movie success, but she told him not to ever talk or mention her name again, he said this on Arise Tv interview few days ago," a Blogger Yeye_kudi_courtroom wrote.

The filmmaker, who was caught up in an exchange with Funke Akindele over his stance on dance video promotions in Nollywood, debunked the claim.

In the comment section, Kunle Afolayan wrote, "Were po Lori internet (Mad people are many on the internet). If you believe this then."
