As reported by TheCable, the 80th session of the UNGA opened on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

However, the high-level general debate is billed to commence on Tuesday, September 23.

The 2025 session is themed ‘Better Together: 80 Years And More For Peace, Development And Human Rights’.

Tinubu is expected to join the gathering of 195 world leaders from Paris, France, where he is having his annual leave.

The 2025 UNGA is made up of 98 heads of state, five vice presidents, 44 heads of government, and four deputy prime ministers. Others are 37 ministers, one crown prince, and four chairs of delegation.

President Tinubu would be the 17th world leader to speak on Day 2 of the general debate, but his slot could change if he does not attend in person.

During the UNGA debate, world leaders make statements outlining their positions and priorities in the context of complex and interconnected global challenges.
