Air India has taken action after members of its airport gateway services provider were seen partying in a video days after its plane crashed and killed 241 on board.

The Air India plane, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route to London, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, India.

The aircraft, which was supposed to land at London’s Gatwick airport, crashed near the airport in Ahmedabad and exploded in a fireball on June 12.

As reported by NDTV, a video showed Air India's airport gateway services provider (also known as AISATS) having an office party days after the tragic plane crash.

As the video sparked outrage after circulating on the Internet, the company took action and asked four of its senior staff members to resign.

The party was held at the AISATS’s office in Gurugram, days after the tragic incident.

In the video, employees were seen dancing with happiness in the office as a DJ played songs.

AISATS apologises over viral party video

An AISATS spokesperson said the company stands in solidarity with the families affected by the tragic loss of flight AI 171.

They expressed regret over the "internal video," which was seen by many on social media as inappropriate at the time.

The spokesperson said:

"At AISATS, we stand in solidarity with families affected by the tragic loss of AI 171 and deeply regret the lapse in judgment reflected in a recent internal video," the spokesperson said.

"The behaviour does not align with our values, and firm disciplinary action has been taken against those responsible as we reaffirm our commitment to empathy, professionalism, and accountability."

Meanwhile, the owners of Air India mentioned the amount they would pay to the family of the victims of the tragic plane crash.

15-year-old boy killed by Air India crash

When the crash happened, the boy’s mother, Sita, who was unaware that her son was sleeping nearby, managed to run.
