According to a statement on Monday, August 11, signed by Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations confirmed that more than 400 bandits were moving with plans to attack a farming community.

Ejodame disclosed that the operation, which took place on Sunday, August 10, involved precision airstrikes and ground assaults, killing several notorious kingpins and scores of their fighters.

Ejodame said that the synergy between the air and land components made the operation exceptional.

Nigerians react to news of the operation

The latest operation has garnered mixed reactions from Nigerians. Some challenged NAF to provide evidence of the operation, while others commended the force's efforts in tackling banditry.

NAF Airstrikes Killed 592 Terrorists in 8 Months

Legit.ng previously reported that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) airstrikes in the North-East killed no fewer than 592 terrorists and destroyed 372 enemy assets in eight months.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, said the Air Component executed 798 combat sorties, destroyed 206 terrorists’ vehicles and 166 logistics hubs in the North-East.

Abubakar made this known on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, during a courtesy visit to Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri, Borno State.
