Ikeja, Lagos state - The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on Monday afternoon, August 11, advised passengers and commuters to and from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, to check traffic updates before departing for the airport.

In a notice shared on his official social media pages, FAAN asked air passengers to confirm flight status with their airline for any schedule changes.

The agency noted the the announcement is necessary as a result of an ongoing protest by the Farmcraft Centre for the Blind, adding that traffic congestion is currently impacting access roads to the airport.

FAAN said:

"Use alternative routes where possible to avoid heavily-congested areas."
