In response to Nollywood actor Jim Iyke’s controversial statement that single mothers cannot raise proper male children, a Facebook user identified as Israel Joe expressed strong disagreement.
He questioned whether Jim Iyke, as a person, was better than former US president Barack Obama, who was also raised by a single mother.

Israel Joe criticised individuals who speak from limited personal experiences and apply those views universally, arguing that such narrow perspectives fail to consider the diverse realities of single motherhood.
While acknowledging the challenges of single parenthood, Israel Joe emphasised that attacking single mothers without demonising irresponsible fatherhood is a misplaced focus.
He affirmed that the reasons behind single motherhood vary; some may be due to mistakes, others intentional, and a few situational.
He also noted that while single motherhood should not be glorified, single mums shouldn't be talked down on.
Israel Joe further questioned Jim Iyke’s authority on the matter. He cited the actor’s unmarried status, referring to him as an irresponsible, over-matured bachelor.
He concluded by advocating for a more holistic approach to social issues, urging broader, more inclusive conversations.

You can attack and interrogate single-motherhood without demonising single mothers as if they are not human beings. Some single motherhoods were mistakes and ignorance, others are intentional, and a few are situational.
Jim Iyke, being a responsible man and irresponsible over-matured bachelor, has no moral compass to say that single mothers cannot raise responsible male children. Is his not being married traceable to being raised by a single mother? Maybe he said so within a small contextual usage, I guess.
I think, as a psychologist, we should interrogate social issues holistically instead of a left-handed navigated circle, seen everywhere.
