Governor Obaseki again wins at Supreme Court
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Supreme Court dismissed the certificate forgery case filed against Governor Godwin Obaseki by the APC.
It was reported that the apex court in a ruling on Friday, May 28, ruled that the APC and one of its members, Williams Edobor, failed to prove their case against the Edo state governor.
A five-man panel of justices of the apex court in a unanimous decision stated that the appellants could not provide any disclaimer from the school that the certificate, whose authenticity they challenged, was not issued to Obaseki by the institution.
In a related report, the APC governorship candidate in Edo state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, reacted to the Supreme Court judgement that dismissed the certificate forgery case against Governor Obaseki.
The former governorship candidate in a statement explained that the judgment brought the struggle for the office of the state governor which started in September 2020, to an end.
