The federal government of Nigeria has also joined citizens and fans of Burna Boy and Wizkid to congratulate them on their very first Grammy win.
In a series of tweets shared by @FMICNigeria, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, congratulated the music stars and noted that it is a well-deserved recognition.

The Minister praised their persistence in the industry and continued by saying that the awards represent a global endorsement for the Afrobeat genre of music that has propelled Nigeria's increasing dominance of the music world.

Lai also expressed hope that the biggest win of the musicians yet would spur them to greater heights as well as serve as a source of inspiration for others.
