Bauchi governor reveals how Governor Okowa brought stability to PDP

Bauchi state governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, on Wednesday, February 3 described his Delta state counterpart, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the doyen of political stability and development in Nigeria.

Senator Mohammed stated this in Asaba when he visited Governor Okowa to condole with him over the demise of his father.

He urged Okowa not to allow the death of his father to dampen his spirit of continuous contribution to the growth and development of the nation’s polity.

The Bauchi governor also expressed condolences to the governor and people of Delta on the passing away of the Majority Leader of the state’s House of Assembly, Mr. Tim Owhefere recently.

Also, the national chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, who was in Asaba with a delegation of the party’s National Working Committee to condole with Okowa, said the party appreciated the governor’s roles in stabilizing it and as such, must identify with him.

Responding, Okowa thanked Mohammed and Secondus and their delegations for the visit, saying that the solidarity shown to him and members of his family would continue to encourage them in going through their current pains.

Governor Okowa lost his father, Sir Arthur Okorie Okowa, to the cold hands of death on Thursday, January 28.

Since then, it has been an outpouring of solidarity for the governor by prominent Nigerians from all walks of life.

Similarly, the majority leader of the Delta state House of Assembly, Tim Kome Owhefere died on Wednesday night, January 27, at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, the state capital, after being hospitalised for about two weeks.

Before his death, the deceased lawmaker was widely regarded as an influential politician of repute in Delta state.
