Traditional cure for virus ready soon, we're working hard on it - Ooni of Ife

- The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on Wednesday, April 29, said that traditional vaccine for coronavirus would be ready soon

- Oba Adeyeye said he has been collaborating with traditional medicine practitioners in the bid to provide a cure on time

- The monarch, therefore, advised the federal government not to throw away traditional medicines even as they continue to look for scientific solutions

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on Wednesday, April 29, gave much hope as he said that Nigerians would overcome the battle against coronavirus.

The Guardian reports that the monarch said a traditional vaccine for the virus has gotten to an advanced stage and the public would soon see the result.

Oba Adeyeye made this known to journalists in Abeokuta, Ogun state where he had gone to donate two motorized fumigators to the government.

The traditional ruler said he had been working hard with traditional medicine doctors in the country so as to come up with a cure for the deadly disease.

He added that though the world is working on a scientific solution to the virus, traditional methods as a way to get out of the outbreak should not be discarded.

The monarch went further in urging the federal government to emulate Madagascar in how it has been giving attention to the use of local herbs to combat Covid-19, saying the local medicines have great efficacy in healing patients.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Ooni of Ife has given the Lagos government three locally made motorized fumigators in the fight against the pandemic in the state.

Added to those is a large drone sprinkler that could be used for wide aerial fumigation. He did the formal presentation of the donations to the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

During the presentation, the monarch said that he was inspired to give because of the great ways world leaders have been dealing with the deadly virus.
