Paul Onuachu grabbed the headlines in the Turkish League with his brilliant performance on Saturday night, September 27.
The Nigerian international scored a brace as Trabzonspor defeated Karagumruk in a pulsating encounter.
In the 19th minute, Trabzonspor took the lead through Felipe Augusto, with an assist from Wagner Pina. Nine minutes later, the hosts responded with an equalizer through Tiago Cukur, assisted by Sam Larsson.

The visiting team regained the advantage in the 35th minute when Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu scored his first goal of the night, assisted again by Pina.
Onuachu scored a brace from the penalty spot deep into first-half stoppage time. Ukrainian forward Danylo Sikan extended Trabzonspor’s lead in the second half, assisted by Tim Jabol-Folcarelli, to make it 4-1.
However, David Datro Fofana scored twice in stoppage time to give Karagumruk hope of a remarkable comeback.
Fofana’s first goal came in the 90+2nd minute, assisted by Berkay Ozcan, before he added another to make it 4-3, per Punch.
The former Genk player has scored five goals in seven league appearances for Trabzonspor this season. The team is currently second in the 2025/26 Super Lig standings with 14 points, seven behind leaders Galatasaray.
Onuachu scores 'fantastic' goal in Turkey
Nigeria international Paul Onuachu scored a wonderful overhead kick against Karagumruk in the Turkish Super League.
In a viral video on X, the 31-year-old connected to a cross by Wangner Pina from the right-hand side of the field.
His recent performance in the Super Lig has put him in a better position to get a call-up ahead of next month's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria are struggling to secure a ticket for the Mundial after missing the 2022 edition in Qatar. The three-time AFCON winners are currently in third place in the CAF qualification group C.
Fans have applauded the forward for his performance since returning to the Turkish league.
