- A Nigerian legal practitioner has stated that the reason businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, was remanded in prison on Wednesday might not be what you think it is
- In a video, the lawyer explained what he termed the 'real' reason Blord was incarcerated, and he also spoke about why he was not granted bail and allowed to go home
- Speaking on the likely outcome of the case, the lawyer said he has no idea, noting that it is in the hands of the lawyers and depends on the evidence against Blord
A lawyer, Hassan Buhari, has reacted to the incarceration of Anambra-born cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, which happened on Wednesday, April 1, after his arraignment at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Before his remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja, Blord was arraigned on charges of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and unauthorised use of the identity of VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse.

Lawyer shares why Blord was remanded
In a TikTok video, Barrister Hassan noted that being remanded does not make Blord guilty. He gave a summary of Blord's charges, noting that the offences against VeryDarkMan are ordinarily bailable, but that bail is not automatic.
Hassan further explained that bail can be refused for several reasons, and he went on to explain the likely reasons Blord was not granted bail and allowed to go home.
"The summary of the charges against Blord are forgery, false representation, that is fraud and using somebody's identity or image without their consent
"Ordinarily, these offences are bailable. He was supposed to be given bail and sent home, then he will come to court on the next day that they are supposed to sit. But bail is not automatic
"Bail can be refused if there is serious risk of the person interfering with investigation, if there is a risk of the person running away and also if there is serious financial and public interest, then the person can be refused bail..."

He continued:
"But mostly likely, what happened is the court remanded him first pending the hearing of the case or pending the hearing of the bail application or maybe the lawyers have already argued, "Okay, my Lord, he should not be given bail because of this."
"Then the judge adjourned for another date...
"Then, as to the result of the case, I have no idea. It is in the hands of the lawyers and depends on the evidence against him..."

Blord's wife shares video of him
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Blord's wife had released a video of her husband amid reports that he is in prison.
This came amid reports of his incarceration after his arraignment at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, April 1, on charges of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and unauthorised use of the identity of VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse.
Some netizens argued that the clip must have been the handiwork of his Facebook page handler as a face-saving attempt and urged Blord to go live to prove them wrong, while others claimed that it supports their beliefs that the remand reports are fake.
