He said:

"This day last year, I left my house employed and returned unemployed. According to my employer, I was laid off for being “not suitable for this role.” But deep down, I knew that wasn’t the case. The whole saga started after I asked about visa sponsorship.
"At first, they seemed supportive and even mentioned involving an immigration consultant since HR found the process complex. Suddenly, my manager’s attitude towards me changed completely. She began questioning my interest in the role, and I started feeling victimised."

He eventually got laid off and became jobless. This was a major problem, as he would have to return to Nigeria if he didn’t secure a job with visa sponsorship within the remaining four months.

He said:

"Three months passed, and I was living miserably—depressed, counting down the days on my visa, yet still applying aggressively, even to jobs outside my field, just to put food on the table."

Reactions as man shares visa sponsorship experience

@iread_bayode

"God is with you, brother. Your testimony will arrive and we will all witness it. One thing struck me in your story, though. That part where you had to go register for a taxi and licence driver school. Do you mean before you can drive a taxi or Uber like in the UK you must enrol in a school go be trained regardless of the fact that you've passed your driving licence previously? I will appreciate your response, please."
