Knocks as Tinubu Meets French President for the fifth time since 2023

President Bola Tinubu visited his counterpart in France, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Wednesday, September 10. This would be the fifth time the Nigerian president would be visiting the French president since his inauguration on May 29, 2023.

Bayo Onanuga, the spokesperson to the president, explained that the Nigerian leader was on a private working lunch at the Élysée Palace in Paris, the French capital, while sharing photos of the two leaders together.

How many times has Tinubu visited Macron

In June 2023, Tinubu visited Macron when he went to attend the Global Financial Pact Summit, hosted by the French president. The duo also met in January 2024 when the Nigerian leader was en route to an African Union summit.

They also met in August 2024 on a private visit, and in November of the same year, Tinubu was hosted in France on a two-day state visit, where Nigeria and France had bilateral talks.

Tinubu, who departed Nigeria on Thursday, September 4, for a 10-day annual leave, was said to be leaving the country for France and the United Kingdom.

EFCC vs Tambuwal: Atiku criticises Tinubu

Legit.ng earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu's administration has been accused of using the EFCC to intimidate opposition leaders in the country.

Former vice president Atiku Abubakar raised the allegation while hosting Aminu Tambuwal and Abubakar Malami.
