Navy confirms arrest of comic star Cute Abiola

In a related story, Legit.ng previously reported that comedian, Cute Abiola's lawyer Fatai Adebanjo has reacted to reports of his disappearance that is trending on social media.

The lawyer confirmed that the comedian is in naval detention but has not given a clue about why he was detained.

However, the Nigerian Navy also confirmed that Cute Abiola is in their custody over a breach of naval social media policy.

The statement read in part:

"OSMCOMP Abdul Gafar is currently under custody in his unit for breaching the Armed Forces Social Media Police and refusal to obey particular orders. The Nigerian Navy wishes to avail itself this incident to remind its personnel to comply with the provisions of the Armed Forces Social Media Policy in their usage of social media platforms."
