APC Says Those Plotting Against Buhari’s Government Will Be Arrested

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that some disgruntled elements in the country are blackmailing and planning to bring down the Buhari government.

A spokesperson for the party, John James Akpanudoedehe, made the claim on Thursday, June 3, at the APC national secretariat Abuja, Daily Trust reported.

He stated that those plotting against the government will not succeed, adding that they would be arrested.

He stated that President Muhammadu Buhari will be judged by security and other achievements.

The APC spokesperson said:

“Those who are trying to take down President Muhammadu Buhari’s government through the backdoor, they will not succeed.
“They are hipping up so that people will believe there is insecurity. They are organised to bring down the government of the APC. We will bring them to book, Insha Allah.''

Meanwhile, a former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo has described Nigeria as a country dripping in bitterness and sadness.

According to him, the country is destined to be a land flowing with milk and honey, but bad leadership has made it unachievable.

He disclosed this on Thursday, June 3, while getting presented with a book titled, ‘The Man, The General and The President,’ authored by Femmy Carrena, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.

In another report, the minister of information, Lai Mohammed, has stated that Ahmad Gumi, a popular Islamic preacher, has not been declared wanted because there is no evidence to suggest that the cleric is inciting violence against the federal government.

Mohammed made the statement on Wednesday, June 2, when he was responding to a question from journalists in Abuja, The Cable reported.

He noted that the actions of Gumi cannot be compared to that of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
