Confusion as 30-year-old woman kills her mother because pastor said she is a witch

A report by The Nation indicates that a 30-year-old woman, Blessing Jimoh, has been arrested by men of the Ondo state police command for allegedly killing her mother, Ijeoma Odo.
Legit.ng gathered that Blessing said she killed her mother with a cutlass after a pastor said she was a witch.
Blessing, who was paraded along with 11 other suspects at the police command headquarters in Akure, said she has four children and committed the crime while they were working at the farm at Ile-Iluji area.

This Day also reports that other suspects were paraded for offences ranging from alleged kidnapping, robbery and women molestation.
Blessing said:
“It was something doing me that make me kill my mother. I am not happy with what I did. I cut her neck with a cutlass. It was a Pastor that said she was a witch and l went to beg her. My mother is from Enugu state. We have been looking for the Pastor but we have not seen him.”
The report added that the state police commissioner, Bolaji Salami, said the suspect would soon be charged to court.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the police in Edo state arrested an operator of Point of Sale (POS) who was accused of assisting armed robbers/kidnappers to collect money from victims’ bank accounts.
It was reported that the 29-year-old suspect named Gadimoh Ofei Bright (29) was arrested on Tuesday, March 23, at Igarra in Akoko-Edo local government area following discrete investigation through technical intelligence on a kidnap case.

The state police spokesman, SP Kontongs Bello, said that the arrested POS operator confessed to helping robbers to receive money from their victims.
He said he received the sum of N1,130,000 in the current case under investigation from the victims’ family before he was released.
