Nigeria's journey in the table tennis competition in the ongoing Commonwealth games at Goldcoast Australia have come to a commendable end.

India defeated Nigeria 3 - 0 in the final on Monday April 9 to claim gold while Nigeria settled for silver.

Clinching the silver medal is an upgrade for the Nigerian contingent who claimed the bronze medal in the previous Commonwealth games.

In a mistake made by the organisers of the event, Nigeria was written as gold medal winner.

Also Nigeria added to their medals logs as Chukwuebuka Enekwechi won silver in the shot put competition.
