72-year-old Evangelist Ismail Badmus is the latest celebrity in town. The septuagenarian became an internet hot topic after a video emerged of him preaching in a neighbourhood about lies to which he would always end with the chorus 'lori Iro', meaning 'over lies' in English.

In a recent interview with BBC, Ismail said he was surprised to see his video on the net as he didn't know how a video of his street evangelism was captured and never told anyone to make a video of him while he delivered the sermon.

The evangelist said he had been lied to while growing up, coupled with the current social and political matters, he concluded that liars dominated. He said:

"Liars too much..we too dey lie."

Born into a Muslim family, Ismail had made the switch to Christianity seven years ago when he encountered Christ.

He said his siblings had kept him at arm's length before now but have suddenly remembered him after he became an internet sensation.

The Ibadan-born man narrated how a dream in which he lost his life almost became a reality and marked the turning point in his walk with God.

Ismail stated he had a dream in which he was cornered by a trailer carrying Iron and was killed. He was said to have woken up, prayed against it and went about his business of the day, Premium Times reports.

True to the dream, the following day, he had just finished a bank transaction and was headed out when he came across a trailer carrying iron. At that instance, he began preaching and telling people to turn from their bad ways.

The viral video was just one of his numerous neighbourhood preaching.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a strange video of a police officer on uniform preaching had surfaced online.

The young officer was preaching salvation through Jesus Christ as the source of true prosperity, safety, and wealth, The Cable reports. He proclaimed that unless people come to Christ and abandon their evil ways, they cannot experience victory.

Speaking with a microphone, the gallant-looking policeman declared that whoever is a follower of God must depart from all sorts of evil.
