- The Northern Christian Youth Forum on Friday, February 12, condemned the linking of President Buhari with killer herdsmen by some individuals
- The youths said the president has shown over time his commitment to securing lives and property of Nigerians
- According to the youths, President Buhari is leading Nigerians with the fear of God
The Northern Christian Youth Forum (NCYF) has frowned at some section of Nigerians linking President Muhammadu Buhari with killer herdsmen operating in some parts of the country.
The group said those behind this are ignorant and are out to heat the polity unnecessarily with their despicable diatribe.
A statement by the secretary-general of NCYF, Reverend Josiah Adam, which was seen by Legit.ng said such allegation is the handiwork of enemies of Nigeria that are desirous of an ethnoreligious war by casting aspersion on the image of the president.
Adam said from all interactions, the Christain youths can confirm that President Buhari is leading Nigerians with the fear of God.
He also said that the president is not the head of a religious or ethnic group but the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The cleric said President Buhari since assumption of office has exhibited in his actions and inactions that he is for nobody and for everybody.
Adams also advised those at the forefront of this dishonourable campaign to discontinue forthwith and seek forgiveness from Nigerians for attempting to promote religious tension in the country.
He said such people should focus on filling their minds on how to extend support to the Buhari administration in delivering the dividends of democracy at this critical point of the country's existence.
Meanwhile Legit.ng previously reported that President Buhari had accused Nigerian elites of being responsible for the controversies in the country.
The president said the elites have only focused on stoking the fire and encouraging violence across the country.
Also, presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, had wanted individuals and groups ordering the president on what to do should desist from such.
Shehu described the outbursts by the groups and individuals as unpatriotic, adding that they were unwarranted.
