Osimhen reacts to Galatasaray’s Champions League draw
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, speaking to GS TV after Galatasaray's 3-1 victory over Caykur Rizespor, shared his thoughts about their difficult group stage draw.
“We need to work hard and fight hard. Looking at the quality of our players and our coach, I truly believe we can succeed. It's a tough draw, you could say,” he said.
“We want to compete in every competition we play. We want to reach the final in every competition. This club sets its own standards.”
“We're heading in the right direction. We'll do everything we can to achieve these goals and achieve what we want,” he added.
The Nigerian forward is experienced in the Champions League, having played in it in four seasons and scored 13 goals in 22 matches, including helping Napoli reach the quarter-final in 2023.

His teammate Rolland Sallai believes Galatasaray have enough quality to compete in the Champions League this season despite their tough draw.
“We have big goals for this season, and we need to achieve great success in the Champions League. We have a very good squad, I believe that as a team we can achieve great success in the Champions League. We have that quality,” he said.
The Turkish champions will need top performances, particularly at home, to be guaranteed a place in the top 24 and subsequent qualification to the knockout.
A deep run in the competition will provide a financial cushion after splashing a record €75 million on signing Osimhen permanently from Napoli.
