An abroad-based Nigerian man urged corps members to stop wasting their NYSC year and to start using the time to pursue international scholarships aggressively.
The man shared the advice in a post on the X platform, targeting Nigerian graduates serving under the National Youth Service Corps programme.

Why NYSC was the right time to apply
According to the man identified on X as @folowoseleadeboye, the service year presented a rare window that most young Nigerians failed to take advantage of.
He argued that corps members with strong academic results, specifically a 2:1 or first class degree, already met the baseline requirements many scholarship bodies looked for, and that diligence was the remaining ingredient.
He recommended applying to a minimum of ten scholarships every single week, stressing that fear of rejection should not slow anyone down.
He was equally blunt about how corps members should not be spending their time, warning them against distractions that would eat into preparation hours.
