Finally, Hilda Baci Shares Her Plan for Giant Pot Used in Breaking Guinness World Record

The giant pot used in Hilda Baci's record-breaking jollof rice feat will be preserved, according to the chef's latest announcement.

The pot was instrumental in setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian jollof rice, prepared in collaboration with Gino.

Hilda Baci announces plan for giant pot

Hilda Baci addressed her plans for the future of the giant pot during a press conference, stating that it held great value to her, PUNCH reports.

According to her, many people had expressed interest in purchasing the pot or auctioning it off, but Hilda Baci's decision was already final.

She maintained that the giant pot which etched her name for the second time on the Guinness World Record symbolised great things to her including history, faith, and innovation.

The process of assembling the pot and the effort it took was also noteworthy, adding to its importance.

Hilda Baci emphasised that the pot would serve as a reminder of the achievement, intended for people to see and appreciate in the years to come.

She confirmed that the pot would not be sold or auctioned. Instead, plans were already in place to display it in a way that would allow many people to view it.

In her words:

“Oh, you may not have heard of it. Oh, trust me, so many people have asked about that pot. Some people want to buy it, they said we should auction it. That (pot) is a symbol of a lot of beautiful things. It’s a symbol of history. It’s a symbol of faith. It’s a symbol of innovation. Because, trust me, the process of putting that pot together, you know, it’s a symbol of many things.

“I think we agree that this is something that we want 10 years from now, 20 years from now, for people to still be able to see and point to. I think that was the biggest pot of jollof rice in Nigeria. In the world, not just Nigeria, because it’s been established for the first time.
“I mean, right now, I can tell you we’re definitely not going to auction it. We’re not going to sell it. We’re going to make sure that as many people as possible get to see it in its glory. And you’re probably going to ask me, are you going to keep it in that shape, no. We’re going to put it back in a form that it originally was. And, I don’t know, you’ll find it maybe on your way to work or in a museum somewhere."
