Nigerians on social media are reacting to the lavish wedding between Davido and his wife, Chioma.

The wedding is taking place in Miami, Florida, the United States, but the excitement is being felt in Nigeria.

Davido sparked the reactions after he said his wedding has so far gulped $3.7 million (a whopping N5.6 billion).

He said:

“We’ve spent $3.7 million cash. So, you should know what we are doing. It’s going to be crazy."

Reacting to the amount the singer spent on his wedding, a TikTok user, Forever Glow stated that no one should say he spent too much.

She said:

"You are not Davido's friend, you are not his family member, and you are stating your disappointment on how Davido is spending his money. You called it lavishing. You said Davido is lavishing his money.

"That he just lavished money a year ago on his traditional wedding, and now, he is going to Miami to do white wedding which is also another expenses, that it is an extravagant wedding.

"Is it your money? Oh! You want him to do that wedding at Ikorodu, or probably Surulere so you will be happy. Is it your money? He has the money and he gats to spend it."

The lady said the money Davido spent on the wedding is not a waste, noting that he is spending it on his wife.

According to her, he is spending the money because he values Chioma.

Her words:

"And by the way, it is not an extravagant spending and it is not lavishing because he is spending that money on his wife. His lovely wife, Chioma, because if you value someone, you don't mind and you don't care how much you spend on that person.

"And remember, talking about wedding, the expenses done on wedding is actually to please the wife because often times, it is not about the husband or the groom.

"It is all about the wife because it is women who care about wedding, how much money is spent and what is done during the wedding. It craeates a lasting memory in their head. He is not lavishing it. He is spending it on his wife."
