PromiseLand Set to Launch ProTaxi October 1, Targets Affordable, Eco-friendly Urban Transportation

ProTaxi, a homegrown e-hailing platform developed by PromiseLand Innovations Limited, is set for official launch on October 1, 2026, as it seeks to provide affordable, safe and environmentally responsible transportation services in Nigeria.

The platform is entering the country's growing technology and mobility sector with a model that combines conventional ride-hailing technology with the promotion of electric vehicles and clean-energy transportation.

ProTaxi is positioning itself as a locally developed alternative designed around the transportation needs and economic realities of the Nigerian market.

According to the company, its mission is to improve mobility in Africa through technological advancement, affordable rides, economic opportunities and environmental benefits.

Its long-term goal is to become a leading eco-friendly ride-hailing platform in Africa, with sustainable and affordable transportation and increased adoption of clean energy forming key parts of its strategy.

The company believes that the adoption of cost-effective electric vehicles could help reduce operating expenses for drivers and provide passengers with competitive fares while contributing to cleaner urban transportation.

For riders, the ProTaxi application provides digital ride booking, allowing passengers to connect with available drivers and request trips within their locations.

The platform also features personalised locations, trip details, access to drivers' receipts and different payment options.

Safety features include driver verification, real-time tracking, ratings and reviews, as well as live-location sharing, which enables passengers to allow family members or friends to follow their journeys in real time.

ProTaxi is also targeting Nigerians seeking income opportunities through its driver platform.

The business is owned by Amb. Lawrence Oloche, who also leads PromiseLand Estate's drive to develop 100,000 housing units across Nigeria, beginning with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

According to CEO, drivers can determine their working schedules, allowing them to operate either full-time or for selected hours while earning through the platform.

Amb Oloche said ProTaxi is seeking to make transportation not only affordable and reliable but also environmentally responsible.

"We believe getting around should be easy, affordable, and environmentally responsible," the company stated.

The October 1 launch comes amid significant changes in Nigeria's urban transportation industry, with rising operating costs putting pressure on both commercial drivers and passengers.

The situation has also created opportunities for indigenous technology companies to develop transportation models tailored to local economic conditions.

ProTaxi is seeking to differentiate itself through a combination of affordability, technology, passenger safety and clean-energy adoption rather than competing solely as another conventional ride-hailing application.

The platform forms part of the growing technology interests of PromiseLand Innovations Limited, expanding the PromiseLand brand beyond its real estate operations into transportation.

With the introduction of ProTaxi, the company is extending its business model from providing housing solutions to addressing another everyday need — urban mobility.

Ahead of the October 1 official launch, the ProTaxi rider application is already available on both iPhone and Android devices.

The company is betting that a combination of affordable fares, flexible earning opportunities for drivers, safety features and environmentally friendly transportation will enable it to establish a foothold in Nigeria's competitive e-hailing market.
