Just In: Sad Day as Prominent Islamic Scholar Loses Wife

- Kwara state has been thrown into mourning following the death of the wife of Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Hajia Hafsat Bashir Imam

- Nigeria's former Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has commiserated with the chief imam and the entire family

- Saraki in his condolence message eulogised the deceased, describing her as a pillar of support to her husband and children

Hajia Hafsat Bashir Imam, the wife of Sheikh Muhammadu Bashir Soliu, the Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, is dead.

Her death was made known on Friday, May 7, via a condolence message posted on Twitter by Nigeria's former Senate president and ex-Kwara state governor, Bukola Saraki.

While commiserating with the chief imam, Saraki noted that the deceased would always be remembered as a God-fearing woman and a pillar of support to her husband and children.

He prayed to Allah to grant Haji Hafsat Aljannah Firdaus and give her bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The tweet reads:

"My family and I commiserate with the Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Muhammadu Bashir Soliu, on the demise of his dear wife, Hajia Hafsat Bashir Imam.
"We will always remember Hajia Hafsat as a God-fearing woman and a pillar of support to her husband and children.
"Hajia Hafsat will be sorely missed for her sacrifice and service to the family and immediate community.
"May Allah grant her a place among the righteous ones in Aljannah firdaus and endow her family with the fortitude to bear the loss."

In another report, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has lost his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye to death.
