In what will excite many Nigerians, the Kano police command has deactivated a bomb planted in a bush at Aujirawa Alkali village in Gezawa LGA of the state.

According to the Kano state command, the bomb was discover discovered on Friday morning, The Cable reports.

Abdullahi Kiyawa, police public relations officer (PPRO) in the state, said the bomb was immediately defused when it was discovered, adding that the area is now secured.

He said:

“On receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, Mr Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, raised and instructed a team of Explosive Ordnance Disposal led by CSP Haruna Isma’il to move to the scene."“The team immediately swung into action, after cordoning off the area, an Improvised Explosive Device was discovered.”

In another report, the police command in Oyo state have come under fire for accusing some Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) members of arson and murder in the case of Iskilu Wakili's arrest.

In a statement made exclusively available to Legit.ng, Barrister Yinka Oguntimehin, the OPC publicity secretary, chided the command for twisting the entire narrative and thereby portrayed its members in bad light.

Oguntimehin revealed that the OPC members linked with the charges are Awodele Adedigba, Dauda Kazeem, and Hassan Ramon.

The spokesman added that the group will seek justice against the unjust arrest, arraignment, and charges of arson and murder for the trio.
