Relocating abroad? Ganduje’s Former Aide Leaves Nigeria after Release from DSS Custody

- Former media aide to Governor Ganduje, Yakasai, has once again gotten Nigerians talking on social media

- Yakasai appeared to been thrilled as he shared a photo of himself at the international airport

- Ganduje's former aide, however, did not disclose which country he was travelling to

Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former media aide to Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has left the country following his release from the Department of State Services (DSS).

Weeks after his sack, the former media aide in photos posted on his Twitter page on Wednesday, March 17, said goodbye to Nigeria as he thanked God for leaving.

It's however, not clear where Yakasai is heading to and if he is relocating abroad permanently.

Legit.ng recalls that Governor Ganduje had sacked Yakasai for making a statement termed critical to the President Buhari's administration.

His sack was announced by the state commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, on Saturday, February 27.

Hours after Yakasai was declared missing DSS confirmed his arrest and detainment in a statement it released on Sunday, February 28.

DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunnanya, said the former media aide was arrested for more than expressing his personal opinion about the government.

Meanwhile, Yakasai described his sack as an "honourable exit". Days after the sack, the former media aide on Monday, March 8, said he left the government with more goodwill than the one he got when joined.
