26-year-old man dumps Marine Engineering certificate for hair-making job despite graduating well

- A graduate of Marine engineering, Ikuelogbon Abel Eyitayo is now a hairstylist

- Ikuelogbo said that he dumped his certificate because he has a good passion for beauty job

- According to him, he was inspired by some men hairstylists who have distinguished themselves in the industry

A 26-year-old male hairstylist, Ikuelogbon Abel Eyitayo, was one of the best graduating students of the federal college of fisheries and marine technology in his set.

But the young man later chose to toe the line of human beautification in a country where the industry is predominantly being run by women.

Speaking with Legit.ng's regional reporter, Adeoye Adewunmi, the young stylist explained that he picked interest in the job having seen that the few male hairstylists in the industry are more professional than women.

Ikuologbon said that he attended Lagos state skill acquisition center, Ikorodu branch Borokini ll, to get trained on his newfound job despite that he had garnered knowledge from his sister and friend.

The hairstylist also noted that he was also learning how to do a pedicure, manicure, nail techniques, body wax, body massage and makeover after his hair-making lessons.

He, therefore, expressed gratitude to God that he had an opportunity to feature in great events like the Big Brother Naija (Pepper Dem Season), GTBANK fashion week and so many others as a result of his current profession.

Ikuologbon state:

“I picked interest in hair making because I have seen that the few male hairstylists in the industry are more professional than their female counterparts.
“These professional hairstylists include Ugo (Make me Salon), Azubuke Eneomy (Zubbydefinition), Adejumo Abdulazeez Babatunde (Hairbysleame) and Abbey (Abbeymattheworks). I was determined to take up the challenge by facing the reality of becoming who I want to be.
“So, I went to the Lagos state skill acquisition center Ikorodu Branch Borokini ll to learn more about the hair making, not only on that cosmetology the full course."

He added that he would continue to update his knowledge on the job, having garnered the required knowledge in the industry.

The young stylist noted:

“During this training period especially after closing hours, I was still going for training update outside the confines of the school to know more not only on hair-making but also pedicure, manicure, nail techniques, body wax, body massage and makeover.
“After then, I have worked with some professional hairstyle in the industry like Zubbydefinition, Ekemini the female professional hairstyle and technologist, (Godrej no as Darling), I also work with big companies for the event like GTBank fashion weekend 2019, Zenith Bank fashion weekend 2019; Miss Nigeria 2019. Big brother Nigeria 2019 (pepper dem)."
