Blackface apologises to fans and supporters as he drags colleague 2baba to court over song theft

- Blackface also pointed out that the protracted issue between him and his colleague is strictly professional

Nigerian music star and ex-member of defunct music group Plantashun Boiz, Blackface, has come out to share the news of the latest development in his protracted rift with colleague 2baba Idibia.

In a lengthy post shared on his official Instagram page, Blackface apologised to his supporters and other concerned parties that have been offended by his actions and inactions in the course of the years.

"I sincerely want to apologize to close friends, relatives, well wishers who may have been affected by my actions or inactions over the years," he said.

The musician disclosed that after waiting for so long to take actions, he and his legal team have finally decided to file a case against 2baba.

“I will never be intimidated by any threat My intention has never been to expose anybody but the truth finds it's way out eventually.

"My issues with Mr Innocent Idibia aka 2face & co are purely professional and my lawyers have filed my claims in Court, to be served to all parties in due time.

"I apologize for the delay in taking this step, i was hoping they would do the right thing and the need for me to take them to court will not arise but alas I was wrong,” the message read in part.

Blackface also mentioned that he would be in court on November 25th for mediation on the N50 million suit filed against him by 2baba’s team.

The rift between the two had started when Blackface claimed that he was not credited for his efforts on African Queen.

In September 2019, Legit.ng reported that the aggrieved singer announced the release of his own version of the song. Blackface disclosed that he removed a part of the lyrical composition that was written by 2baba, in his own version of the record.
