Oyetola finally sends names of commissioner-nominees to House of Assembly (full list)

- Governor Oyetola of Osun has finally submitted a 35-man list of commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly

- It took the state governor, who was inaugurated on November 27, 2018, 10 months to finally submit the list

- The state assembly has asked all the 35 nominees to submit their CVs not later than Friday, September 27, while screening starts on September 30

The governor of Osun state, Gboyega Oyetola, has finally submitted the list of commissioner-designates to the state House of Assembly, ten months after he was sworn in as the state governor.

Oyetola was sworn-in as Osun state governor on November 27, 2018, succeeding Rauf Aregbesola, the current minister of interior.

According to Premium Times, Oyetola has been ruling the state with supervisors appointed for some ministries he considers very important.

He reportedly appointed seven supervisors to do the work of commissioners over the ministries of works, finance, agriculture, home affairs, education and information.

Legit.ng gathers that the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Wole Oyebamiji, submitted the list of commissioner-nominees around 11.30am on Tuesday, September 24.

The speaker of the state House of Assembly has also confirmed receiving the list and has also conveyed a parliamentary sitting to kick start the screening process

According to the speaker, all the 35 nominees are to submit their CVs not later than Friday, September 27, while screening starts on September 30.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Osun state government approved the sacking of civil servants involved in acts that breach the service’s rules and regulations.

A statement signed by the state head of service, Festus O. Oyebade on Friday, September 13 disclosed that the state governor gave approval that civil servants who violated the rules of the service should be disengaged from the service.

The government had between 2013 and 2015 engaged a private organisation to conduct a staff audit during which different levels of infractions were discovered.
