AFCON 2019: Cameroon sports minister calls for sack of Clarence Seedorf

- The Indomitable Lions were knocked out in the round of 16 by the Super Eagles of Nigeria

The Cameroon Sports Minister, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, has asked the football federation to relieve Clarence Seedorf of his duties.

The AFCON defending champions were knocked out in the round of 16 by Nigeria and Kombi believes its time for Seedorf to go.

Kombi categorically stated that the former Dutch international has been unable to build a winning team and putting the players under control.

Cameroon's defeat at the hands of Nigeria still burns back home and the minister commented on the microphones of 'CRTV':

"The question of keeping Seedorf at the helm of our national team is under everyone's eyes. I do not believe based on all the circumstances that have been created that we can find an answer in terms of renewal.

"Its maintenance seems problematic to me. I asked the president of the Federation to notify him in accordance with the provisions of the contract ".

"Our national team proposed an inefficient, monotonous and predictable game. There was no real leader in the group.

"The elimination of the African Cup Final in the round of 16 confirmed the coach's inability to build a winning team. He has shown great difficulty in controlling the whole group and bringing order and discipline. He is not made for this job."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Cameroon handler Clarence Seedorf has insisted that the Indomitable Lions are not under any form of pressure going into the game against Nigeria in the AFCON 2019 round of 16 tie.

The five-time African champions finished behind Ghana in Group F, having scored fewer goals in the group.
